You can always use blender as a money free option.
It can export obj files perfectly and upspring has no trouble using them.

I have 3dsmax5.
Awh... bummer... I think I remember something about it needing to be a specific version.

Well I'm kinda screwed then, I don't want to have to learn other modeling programs..

I'm good with 3dsmax :(

I've tried Wings, I hated it tbh.

A free program is a free program, but Milkshape did more for me that Wings did..

Anyways, I got it all Uv'd and I attempted to texture this.

the entire texture map for the model was done on 1 256x256 map using existing textures from AA.

That's quite impressive. It really doesn't look low res at all.

Here is another short movie clip of it now that its textured.

You should be able to see most of the model from this, the shadows and extra lighting won't take in the little movie, I'd have to render it frame by frame with the extra stuff and that takes waaaaaaaay too long.

Movie link.

Or a coder. Coder minds can comprehend Blender easily. I'm a coder.

Masochists use Milkshape and MS Paint.

Suicidal people use Vi and a copy of the file format specifications.

Noone tries to do the same with ed. That's just insane and you'll probably suffer a stroke.

Does the movie play for everyone, or is it crashing for you guys?

I've had 2 ppl say the video won't play, but they didn't have up to date codecs and Media players.

The movie works fine.
Anbd the model looks even better!

As for modeling programs, 3dsm is very expensive (maya even more). Nobody here is suggesting the use of piracy? Now do we? *wistle*

Thats cool!
Maybe it could also work the other way around?
The pop-up guns are angeld 20° up and used for long/medium range combat and if damaged the turret closes (better armor) and only uses its top-gun, which could also be a flamethrower!

Ok, I've got this all together now.

I have the 3 models (multi-turret, single turret, and wreck) all in .s30 converted for me by Caydr, and the texture is there in .jpg.

The 1 Texture is assigned and set for .dds format.

Can anyone help me setup the cob file so I can start putting this thing together?

So.. um, any takers on helping me setup the rest of the model with a cob/script?

I've never done anything like this for spring, and I don't have a clue what to do next.
