I don't have sidedata.tdf in the gamedata dir.
Also, the mod file AASpring144.sdz doesn't contain one. But xta_se_v066.sdz has it.
I'd hunch it's a broken download or you have some path error. What dir is spring in?
And have you checked your disk for errors?

and you are a wierd individual, how you manage to get this error and play enough to post on other threas, as if you actually played?
Stop being a dick. This is a new error. This wasn't happening before the latest version. I've also had enough of your passive-agressive condescending attitude. Single phrases presented as if they were self-evident solutions help no one.

If you are using Spring.exe, the other Scripts are the other options you can select in the menu at the start.
It happens no matter what I use. Actually, the lobby client doesn't seem to be able to load bots; matches always end in victory for me instantly after my commander spawns. Otherwise, I'm using SpringSP and Spring.exe with the same results. Multiplayer games work fine, however; but that isn't the issue.

Same thing happens with XTA.

Downloaded it several times, from several different mirrors. Also: Moot point, because it is happening with
every mod, not just AA.

F:\Arcade\TASpring\

Yes. None.

I don't know, I would try installing to C: or D: as a last resort...

I seriously doubt that the devs, a lot of whom are Linux enthusiasts, would create such parent directory dependencies. Though, in the interest of fully exploring the problem, I entertained this idea, with the same effect as a result... If someone could give me their copy of the file, I could repackage AA myself to fix it.

AASpring144 wont have a sidedata thing. Only AASpring144S/B/F will have it. This is because of the way Caydr has made the mod, so that the many variations all work with minimal duplication. But this is obviously not the problem, as XTA and the others dont work.
Try a fresh install anywhere on your computer WITH NO EXTRA MODS AND AI'S. Just install and run Spring.exe. Dont install SpringSP or anything. Try lots of the options in the menu of Spring.exe. If they all dont work, then it is an issue with the game. If they do work, add in an AI and try a few of the options again. If it stops working then, then it is a problem with the AI. If its still working, add in the mods. Experiment again. Come back and tell us the results of all the tests.

"but i don't want to reinstall spring, that seems a little drastic, WAAAAAAAAGH!!!"
I'm sure it'll only take a minute or two to wipe the whole thing clean, download fresh copies of all the installers and put it back on.
And it won't take days. Less time than it takes to write these longs posts!

Open xta_se_v066.sdz with winzip and browse it, order the files by name. I bet there is your sidedata.tdf, and the problem is something else than you not having the sidedata.tdf file.

Oh, I read again, multiplayer works but bots not? If you host a game with bots, remember to put them in different team as yourself so the game doesn't end in victory on first frame.
