The word "gaia" was used in Age of Empires to denote units neutral to all players.

Then you controlled the beasts... then... well... there wasnt a way to go back to some "player" team.. heh..

Heh, AoM had a Gaia goddess in it's expansion pack, Gaia is quite litterally mother nature as Cronus is Father Time.
