Lol indeed. I thought that nobody would ever believe it, but some people here proved me wrong!

Only way you can harness energy of magnets is by giving them some first (for example by throwing them at people who believe magnetic field = energy).

Energy = Mass * Speed Of Light * Speed Of Light... I'm just not entirely sure what the meaning of the equation/units of measurement are but...

Let's say it take 1 arbitrary unit of energy to move 1 arbitrary unit of mass from a stand still to 1 arbitrary unit of speed right?

At Speed 1 it now takes, theoretically, the same amount of energy to accelerate an an object of mass 1 to speed 2 except, because of some other thing Einstein said the thing of mass 1 now weighs 2 of the same units of mass so it take 3 units of energy to increase an object at a stand still of mass 1 to speed 2 right?

So, this is the argument against speed of light travel, because the energy requirements increase exponentially (due to the increased relative mass of the object) the speed of light cannot be reached because the energy requirements would exceed the amount of energy that could potentially be stored in the accelerating mass... which is why people say my theory is wrong.

But if you get %100 of that mc┬▓ energy for every 1 unit of mass you expend (this is assuming that the potential energy in the accelerated mass obeys the same E=mc┬▓) your remaining energy potential increases at the same exponential rate as the energy requirements for continued acceleration. The other half of this is that the expended fuel, converted into mc┬▓ energy is no longer part of the remaining mass that needs accelerating...

SO, barring the accelerating fuel and accelerating object, as their relative time dilation approaches infinity*, bringing themselves towards premature entropic decay... it should work.

*[infinity as in "forever, but not really forever because we are observing the process from the outside so it doesn't really count because it's only forever to the object being accelerated."]

Another magnificent thread.Someone give this forum a medal already.

It's actually pretty fascinating that even after so many things have been written about magnetic "work" not violating the basic principles of conservation of energy, people still want it to work so badly.

After all, they gave that guy 11 million pounds sterling, almost $17 million dollars!

What's next? Generators turned by Crooke's Radiometers?
I'm just not entirely sure what the meaning of the equation/units of measurement are

LOL! I'd forgotten entirely about those.

No, absolutely not. That would be obscure even by my standards.

Its hilarious when people think they have genuinely new ideas in areas they nothing about.

But also people should keep in mind that some folks just really enjoy making themselves a fool on the internet to see the reactions of others.

I find this speculation to provide a pretty believable explanation of the whole thing:
http://blogs.chron.com/sciguy/archives/2006/08/steorn_and_free_1.html wrote:Recall that Steorn is a former e-business company that saw its market vanish during the dot.com bust. It stands to reason that Steorn has re-tooled as a Web marketing company, and is using the "free energy" promotion as a platform to show future clients how it can leverage print advertising and a slick Web site to promote their products and ideas. If so, it's a pretty brilliant strategy.
So basically they can say, "Our marketing is so great we can trick people into believing ridiculous things." They aren't advertising a real product but their ability to advertise.

i bet this is some rich mans play-tool, as he wants to see how far he can get with fooling people, and faps to the effect of this all, as it proves his power.
of course there are other things where they are already successfully fooling people with comparably or more stupid claims, but this is new as it goes from 0 to 100 in one step, as everyone knows about the preservation of energy stuff.

you sure?
i love flowers!
energy for free is good for all the flowers on the planet!
this project will save humanity!
not that this is non-intelligent, but i guess it covers what you though of ;-)

Nah, couldn't be, considering that those were a joke in and of themselves in the first place. Radiometers are a fun toy, but couldn't possibly be used as a source of energy unless you happened to be right next door to a star, with a incinerate proof suit and...

No, it would never work. They are fun toys tho :-)

this is an old scam, look for "hummingbird motor" and "sundance generator" - steorn wasn't the first to think of it ;)
