I'm really tired of you bashing stuff you know nothing about. I will set the record straight each and every time you do.

trademark is merely saying that side by side crosseye stereo images aren't the same as the anaglyphic method (red and blue glasses)

since ur thing says parallel (unfinished) i assume its not yet working :?

problem is what do you do about the minimap? also, you can only see half the width of what you'd normally see

Just a question, my brain defaults to "crosseye" method (like caydr's video and the image I posted) for parallel images whereas those are arranged in the "spliteye" way... is it possible spliteye parallel imagery produce a better 3D effect?

Also, curious if anyone managed else to get the mantis image to look correctly 3D (I tried crosseye first and it was 3D but looked dumb... then figured I'd try the spliteye method)

jK put that word unfinished there because he was making some modifications. It does work right now though. But this comes back to talking about something that you've never tried. I just can't take a screenie of parallel mode at this time because I'm not on my comp so I used an existing screenie that has anaglyph as the current selection. The option is there to use all sorts of 3d modes, entirely unlike Caydr's fail video which doesn't even utilize Youtube's own Stereo 3D functionality to let the user see your video any way they want!! I could be viewing his vid on my 3D monitor using yt3d-interleave right now if he had done it right.

Minimap doesn't matter, no one should be playing using crosseyed mode unless they want to damage their eyes. And yes, half the width. That's the reality of the fact you're showing an image twice on one screen, you only get half the screen for each copy!

I'm really tired of you bashing stuff you know nothing about; its meant to be TWO IMAGES, not one with fancy red channel offset. nob

I just hope Trademark decides to play crosseyed mode and his eyes pop out in the middle of a battle and his commander gets napped and he can't do anything about it because his eyes are popped out.

I rendered the movie about 10 times with different eye perspective distances and found the one that people around me had the least difficulty seeing in 3D without losing the effect. I can very easily make the effect much stronger, but I think having the effect be easy to see and get used to quickly is a better option for most people.

The reason my video doesn't immediately jump out at you as being 3D is because the entire ship smoothly transitions from foreground to background, rather than being just two or three levels of depth, as is more commonly used.

At some point I'll probably make another video with more objects in the scene (more ships flying alongside, fighters flying past, a planet in the background or something, etc), but for now a demonstration is all you get.

still you have yet not proved your point to be correct by screenshots, so you fail. once again.

Agreed, so long as both your eyes remain firmly in their sockets, I consider it a failure on my part.
