lurker, I don't care that you don't care, your not posting AVIs. Nonetheless i derive comfort from your rebuttal by giving me an opportunity to make another post.

It is in the posters best interest to provide the easiest option they can. I can play the videos, but it requires me to go through many extra steps to save the file and launch the app and open it then delete it after wards, whereas it would be far easier to just click a link then close the tab a few seconds later.

I am in the privileged position of knowing that codecs actually exist, but many do not, and probably think its something to do with camera film.

No one gives a shit AF. That video wasn't intended or meaningful to anyone without the know how to play it.

It would have an impact, there are many people who marvel at zwzsg giganto GIFs who have no intention of ever opening a text editor or modelling tool.

so what, good for you af.. .that doesn't mean you need to go on some asinine crusade derailing every thread you can because it isn't in a format your gay assed mac can handle!

Iphone doesn't play all swf files... case in point the files I have been playing, tried playing on my iphone a while back and tehy wouldn't work... boo fucking hoo.

the only reason I post swf anims is that they are smaller than a gif with a lot more colors and it is quick upload for me. be happy I don't build an uncompressed avi and store it in a RIFF file.

Having to do that would be quite annoying, I agree.

Good thing browsers have an 'open' option. No bothering with finding a place to save, file gets deleted automatically later.
