The price point for the GTX 285 is $400, but newegg has parts for $380 right now and overclocked variants for not too much more.
wow, that's like £300
If that's new it should be double that, it does look quite meaty, id like to take it for a test atleast.
If its true that you can buy that then id rather that and pay £40

ATI cards arnt as relaible though, its like getting linux or a MAC. I want everything to load up first time, no hacking involved.

my 4850 is perfectly reliable and didn't require any hacking to work - install drivers and go. on the contrary recent nvidias have manufacturing problems and are prone to dying in the first 18 months.
