Sometimes no matter how many times you repeat xta has morphable coms, they just don't listen, because its not BA.

Bah, the whole point is that morphable coms or whatever (just like the ones in SupCom) are entirely doable in just about any mod. End of discussion, quit confusing the poor noob!

I just tried XTA. The commanders were not upgradeable. Then I though that maybe it's a mod option, and maybe it was off by default. So I ran a lobby, and indeed in the mod option tab there was a drop menu about upgradeable commanders. I tried about every options in there, and still ingame I couldn't see how to upgreade commanders.

Using v9.5? In 9.51 upgrading works fine.
Xta upgradable coms have existed for several versions...
Mod options include disabling upgrades, starting with Ubercom (satellite bombardment etc.) and NinjaCom start, where your commander is much faster, has jumpjets, and less health. Ninja com can dgun an enemy com then jump away to avoid being caught in the blast.

Not quite /thread yet. Read what zwzsg quoted. Now take a slightly closer look at the grammar, spelling, pacing, and basic concepts in his sentences.
Also look at his earlier posts in this thread... I don't even know if you're serious now, but that part of your post doesn't remotely have a point if you're not...

Still, Morphing doesn't do what he's been asking for, he wants multiple upgrades available to different weapons and build options etc.. essentially there are NO mods doing this right now that I know of... though I remember seeing something like it being experimented on in some mod pre-LUA... forget which it was.
Anyways... It's possible.

My "/thread" was tongue in cheek. Given, however, that it has already been stated that SWIW has a commander upgrade tree, and XTA has a functioning linear commander upgrade system, it does seem that the OP's question has been resoundingly answered.

CA had options to change commander. You could get assault commander with more powerfull weapon, or economy support commander etc.
Several other variants had been tested but all led to problems with comm pushing and were abandoned for now.
