The round insignia on the mid section didn't turn out well after scaling down, but I actually modeled it and the fan to create those parts.
Try putting in some (much stronger/bigger) shadows to make the 3d pop out, for those 3 things on the circle.

I like the 'technical noise' on the inside of the factory - it makes sense there, because that's the 'exposed innards' of the factory.
I don't think it sits well on the outside, on the 'dome' section. In my mind that should look more like an armoured shell.
Also, as you said, the model you made for the insignia is very cool - but it doesn't work on your model, which is a shame.

Getting there, only a few parts left untouched.
I tried doing some contrast and gradient washes on the Dome area, seems to add some nice lighting to it.

Nice, though it follows the origional texture a bit closely- it looks like per-poly texturing in some places. Its good to accentuate a models natural lines, but i dont know about following the polys so exactly.

ok, well everything is done, teamcolor, reflection.glow and transparency maps all finished.
Just waiting for Rattle to work his magic on the script and this is ready for consumption.

Oh yeah, I forgot to show you guys the upspring render.
Transparency is still not working in my version of Upspring, havn't checked for an update, so it may not show the fans or exhaust ducts and transparent side window.
Face normals aren't adjusted yet either, Rattle said he would polish things up with the smoothing groups as he went.
Teamcolor/glow/reflection does work tho, check it out

MR.D let me tell you again, your remodels are eye sex. I like your work. It's simple, low poly but fucking well modeled and textured.
I would donate for a re modeling of all units but I know that is a huge amount of work and time.

A good texture can make or break any model.
Glad you guys like this though, I just wish Spring could handle Alpha semi-transparency.
Rattle and I got the fans and vents working fine, but the glass back which I had planned to have semi-transparent isn't working yet.
I put inner geometry in there with some more techno noize which you can see in my 3dsmax renders of it, but currently it isn't supported in spring.
We're trying to find a workaround for it, without it being too performance taxing.

There are no real workarounds,
this is as far as it gets without any kind of (expensive) sorting or a peeling shader. If it was that easy then I'm pretty sure someone would've implemented it ages ago.

I've been faking semi-transparency by drawing what is most commonly seen behind the semi-transparent object, and then adjusting to make it look refracted. It's not perfect, but it works well in some instances.
You can sort of see it here.
I've specifically not drawn anything specific on the glass, just vague outlines, so that it never really looks wrong if you view it from a bad angle, it can just look good from certain angles.
I also wanted to add that the way you did the fan was bloody clever, and looks really good. I think I'm going to have to nick that idea for some of my future factories!
