avast picked up C:\Program Files\TASpring\LobbyUpdate_023_024.exe as being a trojan horse,

Malware name: Win32:Small-WF [Trj];
Malware type: Torjan Horse

I'm am positive this is mistake.

I've scanned in the past with avast and nothing spring related has ever caused a problem. This must be either a problem with the latest spring update or the latest avast update. Hopefully betalord can respond to it anyways.

Well I scanned it with Kaspersky antivir and it found no problems, I think Kaspersky has the largest virus database. You probably have some heuristic scan enabled in avast, that's all.

I had the same problem. Avast AV didn't like the update file
, so I delete it. It shouldn't affect anything in Spring. Most likely,
a fault-postive with its dat files. They are updated daily.
