Who am i!?
Some off-topicness...
Do a presentation of yourselves here, so we get to know a little better the mass of people populating the forums, and chat a little. I'll be doing mine right next.
Do not share info you will regreat later. Your name and age at least would be nice though.

My name is Paulo Augusto and i am 27 years old.
I tend to use PauloMorfeo because my name is usually taken by someone else.
If i'm not mistaken, Morfeo is the greek god who was responsible for receiveing the souls of the dead into heaven/hell. Keep in mind, i've been using that nick since before the movie Matrix. The name Morpheus for the character is most suitable in the story.
My second name, which is portuguese as i am, comes from the old roman emperor Augustus. It then lead into my name Augusto and also ended up naming the month August which in portuguese is Agosto.
Enough chatting for my part.
In case you haven't noticed, i'm not much of a chatter. I barely have time to monitor this forum as well as the forum of HappyPenguin, as well as everything else...
Now it's your turn to do some chatting.

Im David Colby, 15 almost 16. Im a rabid Athieist, and often froth at the mouth as i debate with my best freind (who ironicly is Chatholic). I also debate with him about whitch is greatets B5 or Star Trek, and my stance is "B5 rocks and Star Treck (original) Rocks"
and his stance is
"Worship Star Trek unto God and B5 is the manifestation of crap"
And i have no idea why he hates B5 so much. Aside from the fact that he getts bord if their is no gun fight in a TV show after five minnuts. Also for some bizzar reson he LOTHES CGI. He hates it beyond any logical capacity. Its realy bizzar. However, he is still a great frind. Oh wait, this is supposed to be about me isent it
Well iv been a Tuba Player after i first picked it up and said "MINE!". Iv been a B5 fan ever since is saw the first ten episodes. Iv alwaysed liked coputer games and wayyyyy back in 1997 i was trying to decide between two games. Brain of Dockter Brain and Total Anhillation. I decided that Total Anhillaiton is cheaper and had a cooler looking box. I was VERY glad i didint get the Brain of Dockter Brain.
Finaly, i love RPG's and RTS's and MOOIII whitch lays in its own wired genera.... oh and last but not least i read. I READ A LOT! Okay i had a hard time to read. I thought i neede glasses, but the doctors said "Its just in your head" (ironicly i got glasses 7 years later). So i worked as hard as possible, stuggaling to read after many of my friends surpased me. Then finaly it clikced. I read a short book then begain to devour more book and more books! By the next year i was reading 400 pagers. The teachers would know "Whatch david, he will always read a book insted of pay attention" I read and read and read and read and read and finaly... kept reading. I have kept up reading at an insane pace, starting a 1000 pager in the morning, and finishing it in the night.
Unfortunantly this has deaded my sences to Telavision. Seeing through the eyes of a reader, looking at Reality TV and most other kinds of TV i am filled with the utmost of revulsion. ITS UNMIDDIGATED CRAP! IT IS SO BAD I CAN BARLY describe it. Even useing every profanity created by man couldnt describe the horrendus ness of TV. However their are four things that where on recently that are great. Well some still are, but either are just reruns or gotten crappy.
Simpsons (gotten crappy)
Futurama (reruns)
Firefly (canceld by the idots at Fox)
B5 (Ended, whitch is different from beiong cancled)
Star Treck Originol (Cancled after three years)
Every other TV show seems to be crap.
Also atronimy is a HUGE passion of mine. iv followed NASA (DAMN YOU social apathy!!!) all of their missions. Iv learned about black holes, quasars, warmholes, gravity, hyper novas, exetera. So i say to everyone. The space program is the FUTURE of the humain race, unless you want us to nuke ourselves into oblivon or succumb to our primitave uges for resoures. And dont think we can wait till we have fixed EVERYTHIng about the humain race, cause one of my freinds says that "We need to fix all of the problems on earth befor we muck around on mars" and im like "If WE fix EVERTHING then it will be to late to leave the earth, and also many of the answers are out in the stars" cause see, ONE you need resourses to get to space, but those resourses are being used elswhere. So people dont want to divert them to space operations, even though mars has every thing we need to build a industrial socity AND fule earths productivity with resoures. Then we can mine the astiroids of the Belt, and then the humain race will be spread through out the sollar system and we can live in a golden age of mineral wealth and sientifice acevement. Just think about it and space becomes the obviouse necisisaty.

Hey I LIKE MOOIII and MOOII equaly. See MOOIII is actualy like how it would be to run a MASSIVE star spanning empire. You wouldent tell EACH planet what to do. Hell you probebly wouldent tell each Solar System to do. Also i like the fact that games drag on for MONTHS. That is if you have a 3 amred galaxie
But thats not to say that i dont like MOOII. In fact i think that MOOII rocks!

My fav colours is Blue, or red, sometimes orange, It changes from time to time. Fav numbers anything made of 6's and 4's specificcally 4 and 64.

I am Diggz. I'm 17 and quite shocked that everyone is so young. New meaning to spring eh? I like physics, I usually can't understand when you guys start talking technically. I like all games and like PC better than console. I'm American so if anyone has oil....
I'm really interested in combining the FPS and RTS in spring I hope that turns out great.

Hi, Im still aGorm, I thoud Id share more usless info:
The compasses: I had (and still do) have a collection of compasses (although now most are broken due to teh school years). They range form big and sharp to small and blunt. They are self aware. They worship in a Temple echeded into the back of a calculator, and what they worship is BOB and his holy number 13. They wage war against the mighty Parker fountain pens (that have enslaved all other stationary), with the aid of other rebel stationary. Polos are involed somewhere...
Everything has a history, I have a whole back story in my head and hence
when Spring is released i may very well make my own RTS out of this, in the hope that I will find someone crazy enough to play it with me. But thats no promise, because of space time contnium constrates.
If you begin to feel im slightly mad i can explane it away to when i balanced a brik on a wall and then stupidly stood under it untill if fell of craking my scull. That either made me the idiot i am today, or, proves what an idiot i was in the first place.

There seems to be alot of people interested in physics and astronomy and as such i will share this info:
About a month ago, i bought 2 telescopes. One is a small lense telescope with a lense of 65(?) mm and a focus distance of 900 mm. The other one is a reflecting telescope with a mirror of 114 mm and a focus distance of 900 mm.
This saturday, 9th of April of 2005, for the first time in my life, i «saw» Jupiter. I saw him really well defined with those darker stripes and i saw 4 lovely small dots around it, 4 of it's moons.
Really cool.
Sadly, Saturn, the lord of the rings, is starting to get near the sun which isn't helping to see him. I would really like to try to see it's rings.

Hi. Im still the guy you call when you want something of aGorms crazyness or Alantai's total rampant attack the forums mentality translated
Just recently, having played a few sample games of Warhammer 400000, i realised it wouldnt be that hard to design a proper tabletop RTS, and started work on my designs. I currently have 1 side (The UNSC, a nice, well balanced middle side) complete on structures (yes structures, thats where it differes from normal warhammer, along with resource gathering.) Howerver, rather than following a TA resource system style, i discovered that a combo of Battlezone 2 and Red Alert resource systems would work best.
As you are all people i can rampage on at, I will give you a basic storyline
In 2044, the world's oil ran out. Or rather, the last that we could reach. Forturnatly, a device similar to OTAs nanolathe had been developed, and so this was overcome. Metals, however, could not be nanolathed. On the 8th of June, 2044, a meteor shower hit this planet of immence scale. It left deposits of a variety of rare, and extreemly useful metals. Tritaniaum, which was similar to Titanium, but 3x stronger and only the weight of cloth. Trinium, which was a more flexible form of Tritanium. And Bio-Metal. Bio-Metal was a metal which when it took damage, would self heal. However, deposits were spread rather evenly across the planet.
The US, Russia, the EU and China, all wanting a foothold in the large resource supplies, set out into space with astroid miners. As resources were gathered, the countries formed loose knit alliences to mine resources, and increase their space fleets. An allience of the US, the EU and Japan was formed, while China allied with Russia and the former OPEC nations.
Exactly 3 years to the day of the first meteor swarm, a Russian miner and an American Miner came across an exceptionally large astroid that appeared to be made entirely of Bio-Metal. Neither side wanted to share, and so the American ship fired its mining laser at the Russians, hoping to disable the Russian ships engines and mining equipment. Instead, this angered the Russian captain. He ordered the use of the Heavy Cannons, which were banned on mining vessels in any case. The Russian ship blew up the American ship, but a fragment from the American Vessel overloaded the Russian's engines when it caught in the jet. Both ships were destroyed.
Exactly 4 hours later, Russian command, hearing that their Mining Flagship had been destroyed, with the payload they desperatly needed for construction of a new ship, ordered the attack on the Western Allied Forces. The French and Italian Fleets were wiped out in a matter of minutes, the American fleet lost nearly all its carriers, and all but 1 of its heavy carriers. The British fleet was on the outsides of the solar system, on exercises, and receved the attack warning from their headquarters with enough time to prepare for the attack.
On Earth, nuclear missiles were loosed from their silos, along with nuclear bombers. FAE bombs, normal explosive missiles and 'the dogs of war' were released by both sides. Orbital defences attempted to take down the nuclear weapons, but some still made it through.
The solar war continued for another 3 months before a British carrier was shot down by the Chinese fleet. The carrier, HMS.Reliant, was forced to crashland in the wreckage of Manchester. There, surviors discovered that there were still people on Earth, trying to get a government and some measure of freedom. Thus, the UNSC was formed from the ruins of a broken western nation. Their new capital? The Flying city of New Manchester, constructed using a combination of the wrecked structures and institutions of Old Manchester and the carrier HMS.Reliant, destined to become a world super power.
In the Arabian deserts, where no one had really thrown any nukes, because there was no oil left, the NAR was formed. A loose coalition of the old terrorist organisations, the NAR's goal was to install a religiously fanatical government in all of the world's nations. It didn't matter what religion, just fanatical.
And in the wreck of New York, several of the leaders of corporations like Toyota and Sony formed their own government, for their own personal profit. Bill Gates, upon hearing this, believed they would come after his wealth, and organised the sending of a distress call.
After another month, all 3 sides now have control of regions of the world. Much of the Eastern seaboard of the US is a battleground between the fanatical supporters of the NAR and the high tech soldiers of the GCC. Russia is a warzone between the UNSC and the GCC, where both sides are evenly matched, the GCC's heavy mechs proving just as useful on the open plains as the UNSC's light attack vehicles and heavy tanks.
Africa is a war torn area, with the NAR attempting to impose on the world from their capital in the depths of Silarti Mountain, and the UNSC attempting to establish freedom and justice.
Now, which side will you join?
Currently UNSC Structures are sketched, basic rules and special rules are designed, and side abilities are decided. Colour schemes are still being worked on also
Sorry, just felt the need to rant that

Looks like you will like: Games Workshop.BlackLiger wrote:Just recently, having played a few sample games of Warhammer 400000, i realised it wouldnt be that hard to design a proper tabletop RTS, and started work on my designs.
Games Workshop is already very old. I play most of they're games since a long time. They are excelent.
Games Workshop can be devided in two worlds, the high fantasy one (Warhammer) and the futuristic (Warhammer 40K).
In the High Fantasy one, you have:
- Warhammer. You have those Orcs, Elfs, wizards, dragons, greater deamons, etc, going on full scale battles. Usually the space of a dinner table with 100+ models.

- Mordhein. Skirmishing game where you have a band and you fight other bands in small fights.
(Games Workshop doesn't like too much to share images...)
- Warmaster. Very small miniatures to simulate huge battles of Warhammer.

In the Futuristic, you have:
- Warhammer 40K. You have those pesky orks, still, Eldar, Tyranids (looks like aliens), greater demons (they are immortal, you know), etc. Same size of battles as Warhammer.

-Necromunda. Same as Mordheim.
- Battle Fleet Gothic. Really cool game where you control Battle Ships and watch them navigate around the battlefield, shooting they're cannons, launching torpedoes, launching small aircrafts, etc.

- Inquisitor. I am not too sure but it seems to be like Nocromunda/Mordheim but you take on the role of a Inquisitor and some of his helpers.

The problem about Games Workshop is they're greedines. The models are extremely expensive. Especially when you're living in a country to where shipping is added to the price and where we don't get paid that much...
The good thing, is the detail and profoundness of the world they created.
I have to admit it guys.... I play Warhammer and Warhammer 40k... And they do rock alot. Was that for a table top game BlackLiger? Cause it could have easly been an RTS! I think your missing somthing though... clearly the asteroides came originaly from the home system of the compasses where the metals are readly availible. The parker pens clearly destroided one of the planets and sent shrapnell all the way to your our solar system...
Oh dear my legs have turned to wood. And now there floting off to sea...

aGorm, if you read it fully, its a design for a table top game that functions similar to an RTS but turn based :D
PM me and ill jump you in, on the consideration that there r no stationary or other everyday household items involved
Zoombie, feel free to regard the NARs geneticly mutated close combat soldiers as zombies and blow their heads off.

Dont worry, I did read it all, just wasn't sure how you goona pull of a Table Top RTS. Also, where the hell would the moddels come from? And what do you mean by PM me and ill jump you in...
i personly distrust all types of personal teleporation devices so i hope that was ment in a meterforical sence... Youll have to explane your game a bit more (not the story the game). It does sound cool btw, if i havent said so befor.
