Re: Egypt
wow, gota is right, and i admit it. I actually believe, that the only ressource we will have, besides cloth, housing and food, will be computation, and therefore we will spend a lot of time in OS-Comunitys, creating stuff, that one day, might alow humanity to do a giant leap, out of that trap of a gravityhole.
Until then, egypts livestandards, might as well become worldwide livestandards.

Re: Egypt
I dont think it will be as extreme but i dont think we will have the ability to thoughtlessly spend our income on luxuries anymore and consume at crazy rates.PicassoCT wrote: egypts livestandards, might as well become worldwide livestandards.
Obviously new technologies and miniaturization and increased efficiency in most industries will mean a better exploitation of energy the only question is will it be able to keep up with the chocking amounts of energy sources after we stop using fossil fuels.

Re: Egypt
GOTA, you actually against War, in a RTS-Comunity?
And those WW1 War-cheers, were organized propaganda. Those who were happy, were idiots, not up to date how tech would change war, and there were reports of woman in nearly every town beeing against the war. Just not made it into the newspaper.

Re: Egypt
Gota, here's how it works in a democracy: people get in power that you don't agree with. Sometimes horrible people. The Americans have been propping up the corrupt regimes all around you, and now the people have risen up and decided they want to stand on their own two feet.
Maybe it'll be a situation like Iran where it went from bad to crazy, but at least it will be the will of the people. You can't lean on America forever.

Re: Egypt
First of all stop patronizing I bet you have absolutely no idea what it means to fight for democracy.Caydr wrote:Gota, here's how it works in a democracy: people get in power that you don't agree with. The only thing i give a shit about as an Israeli is if ill soon have to go to another war or have more general crap to worry about.
I give absolutely no shit about how egyptians want to govern themselves.
You can live in your peaceful bubble dreaming about romantic revolutions and social experiments i just want to live properly and im tired of the reactionaries in these parts.
Re: Egypt
You're not tired of the revolutionaries, you're tired of living on a hemorrhoid on earth's asshole. Move someplace where not everyone wants to kill you.
Before, you said you live in Israel because your dad died fighting for it. Is that what you'd want your kid to say one day?
All joking aside, you're a decent guy and you deserve a better life. There are some battles that aren't worth fighting and this is one of them. It's a few square kilometers of desert with no natural resources, propped up by billions of dollars of money foreigners send you to fight their proxy wars.
You're unwitting puppets of politicians thousands of kilometers away who don't actually give a damn about you, but just want to keep the anti-western hate on a focal point as far away from civilization as possible.

Re: Egypt
Jesus christ.
WTF are you even talking about...My father is alive and well.
telling someone to move away is...eh...just retarded.
The idea you can tell me the place i live in is not worth fighting for or/and i should just move away(as if its such an easy task) is both unbelievably condescending, ignorant and , if i was a more emotional person, somewhat insulting.
Nobody is sending anyone to fight proxy wars, Israelis do not fight for the US or the UN or the EU, they fight for themselves.
The world is not black and white and many interests can be involved and intertwined in different actions being taken by different entities....
It's easy to oversimplify of course, but isnt just shutting up even easier?Think about it.

Re: Egypt
So the billions of dollars the 'States send you every year is for, what, being totally cool dudes?
I don't mean to insult you or Israel, I'm just telling you like it is. The American policy is to keep their fights far from home. Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, Pakistan, Egypt, etc: they prop you up with military and monetary support to make you look like a much more appealing target to the crazies.
They keep you just "Western" enough to be a lightning rod for extremists while keeping you dependent enough to ensure you won't stand up on your own and start acting for your own interests. As you are now, you're just human shields. This isn't even a conspiracy theory idea, you're routinely referred to by politicians "a front on the war on terror". You're their toy soldiers. If that makes DOESN'T make you feel insulted there'd be something wrong with you.
Egypt already came to this realization, and you see the results.

Re: Egypt
Cadyr, why did you decide to live on stolen eskimo property? Hand it back to the grizzlys and tecumseh, and come to the longest beach the mediterannean ocean has to offer. All you have to figure out is the cut the dick trick.
Re: Egypt
Tell me the country where you live and I'll tell you who lived there before. Native Americans such as Tecumseh chose to side with Canada, there's no comparison. Many injustices were committed on them but this is something we both recognize and strive to leave behind us. The past is the past, the present is the only thing we can actually change. And it's in the present that Israel is in this situation.
Re: Egypt
I was going to say something but then I decided to instead point out that Canada is a tundric wasteland 2 months of the year and unpleasant for 6... and our government is peopled by lawyers who behave like 12 year olds. We're no picnic... though we don't tend to go to war with our immediate neighbours, fall asleep to the sound of shelling or have people dragged out of there homes and locked up in secret military torture installations very often... so that's goodCaydr wrote:Tell me the country where you live and I'll tell you who lived there before. OK, lets see, major points considering all of this:
1┬║ - America trys to influence everything around itself, in a semi protective way to avoid foreign problems reaching america itself, and in search for economic dominion. This is a consequence of the cold war itself.
2┬║ - Jewish people get to theyr land, and imo, they have the rigth to exist, and it was more the british who created problems (AT THE START)at the time rather than an all out war between arabs and jews.
3┬║ - America suports israel, cause its a beacon against USSR suported arab countrys. Same way as turkey.
4┬║ - Wars proliferate, and israel is hated because it won simple as that, there is no other way to consider it, it won its hated, if it had lost, it wouldnt exist, simple as that.
5┬║ - Israel puts his guard high up, and every confrontation its like a lion protecting itself, with all the consequences atached.
Conclusion - Israel and the arab world wont reconcile and this is not because israel is an EVIL BITCH, its because israel won the war, and as any winner would have made, it tryed to get his country in a good shape and in a standing power.
Dont get mistaken arabs arent saints neither is israel, only problem here is that any enemy that remains an enemy for a determined amount of time to the arab worlds, brings a whole set of consequences that anyone couldnt predict.
Israel presents itself the winner over the arab countrys, and that status is explosive in countrys that burn over anything. Jihads, holy wars e.t.c... religious motives.
When israel was at war with jordania, egypt e.t.c.. the reason for the war was lets get that area, was a purely selfish reason it wasnt to help palestine get idenpendance lol.
There are diferences from the street opinion, and actual political decisions.
ok lets consider palestine, IM TIRED OF POLITICAL ANALISTS SAYING PALESTINE HAS THE RIGTH TO BE A COUNTRY.
AND I SAY, isnt it a fucking country already, aser arafat gave you independance it gave you a harsh ditactorship, unemployment a police state.Dam why is it that politics dont face the regular and harsh environment that real life is, they apeal to the "good sence", or the goodness of heart, that shit doesnt exists.
