TV lcd/plasma
OK so im looking for a tv.
42-50 inch.
LCD or plasma cause i don't want to spend the money needed for back-lit LEDs since it seems a bit expensive for what it gives(side lit ones i dont like).
The most important thing is image quality.
All else is secondary and overall unimportant.
Im looking for the best image quality for the money...
Not super expensive, I dont use the TV much anyway.
If anyone has a clue about this topic and has some good reccomendations...

No clue on the Videofile side of things but Samsung seems to make very good LCD TVs
Re: TV lcd/plasma
well, stay away from plasma at least
Re: TV lcd/plasma
my Wife's father says they use significantly more electricity ... google agrees at 2 to 3 times as much.TradeMark wrote:well, stay away from plasma at least
Re: TV lcd/plasma
obviously, no plasma. second most stupid invention after electric cars.
also it hardly ever matters which tv u gonna buy, to be honest every tv got same components inside, just box and the name of company differs >_> i got 30'' Daewoo tv (im not joking) since 5 years, smashed glass window on it, only 2 tiny scratches and still works perfectly ^^
also, as long as u dont plan to buy HD, dont buy anything above 30'', definition will be so shit

not just that, but ive heard they can break very easily for example when you move the TV and it hits floor etc...SinbadEV wrote:my Wife's father says they use significantly more electricity ... google agrees at 2 to 3 times as much.TradeMark wrote:well, stay away from plasma at least
Re: TV lcd/plasma
ITT: korea numba one!
i would suggest against plasma... even aside from the fragileness and the electricity gluttony, those things get HOT! my friend has a 50" plasma, if its on for longer than an hour or so it becomes like a radiator... no good for summertime in a small room
mostly agree with this, although i think if you buy a better brand of tv, you'll be less likely to get a dealbreaker like a poor quality capacitor or dead pixelsevery tv got same components inside

Re: TV lcd/plasma
LCD 1080p only
ensure you do not get a tv that adds extra frames to smooth the action, it looks really unnatural and horrible.. samsung do some of the best tvs but also on many you cant entirely turn the added frames off
