no other sport has even close to as many followers or players or teams, no other sport has the possibility of as big of a paycheque (besides boxing, but that's an individual sport anyway)

and as a result, no other sport would see a country spend millions (probably) on bribes and billions (surely) on new stadiums and infrastructure just to host 22 men kicking a ball around a grassy area

at times stories surrounding soccer are ridiculous, but really its more spectacular than anything else, as billions of dollars are shovelled at a game with very little gain to show aside from the arguably meaningless event of actually winning

as an entertainment industry, you will never see anything else with production values as high, or as many people passionate about the game.

Did someone really give a shit whos popular in the school? I never noticed huge differences in popularity, although there were few persons "above" others, but they were good people and respected, and they didnt try to be like some American idols which everyone would be jealous of, if they tried, they would get asskicked and called faggots or whatsoever

Just because you have your American Football (Rugby without the finesse? :D <3) and Aussie Rules Football, or whatever else you play in your backwater province/so called "country", don't try and export your misnomers to the nation that invented both the sport and the language!
