honestly, minecraft should be indie of the year, it has been #1 for some time and has brought a lot of positive attention to indie gaming and the power of an individual.

GRTS has had some votes for IOTY but I think that minecraft has really earned the title. Like it or not, the game has undeniable popularity and the developer has had a great attitude. You should all read his post on piracy as should the gaming industry.

The Ball? It's now full-on indie, running on UDK. :-)

what he said is cool, he got good idea of 'how to convince ppl to buy the game, not to fight piracy', but, what suprises me most only few indie devs came up with same idea and ofc (damn) blizzard

The developers were published through Tripwire Interactive, who distribute primarily through Steam. I really like Tripwire, but a friend got The Ball so I just played her copy.

Guys! Guys!
Gundam RTS made it into the top 100!
Vote! Vote! Vote!
Take it to the top! (or at least as high as it'll go with DF in the same category)

Very nice work, smoth. You've really outdone yourself this time. :)

that's coz network programming is surprisingly harder than you'd think it is.
(see how long it took for spring to get rid of desyncs). And the problem still holds. You are making a game + networking, but people are only paying for networking.
