Survivorman

Post by Gota »

Pretty cool series.
A guy gets put in remote locations around the world with almost no supplies and he needs to endure for a week.
Doesn't really matter in what order you watch the episodes.

I really like Survivorman. And snoop is right, I cannot stand Man vs Wild. Obnoxious beyond belief.

Les Stroud is a pretty cool guy, I really dig a lot of what he's into. Recently bought a harmonica off of his site.

I'd like to see the new show. Damned college and it's lack of TV.

They're really the same show with slightly different people with different accents. But Bear Grylls is a little more eager to drink his own piss and bite snakes' heads off, which is always entertaining...

Two very different shows. Les hauls in all of his filming equipment with him, sets up shots as he travels, and is by himself for the duration of the show. Also makes most if not all of the music if I remember right. He also deals with survival situations.

Bear Grylls goes out with a camera crew and does a bunch of senseless, stupid crap that is entertaining to some, but ultimately proves he's just a combination of brave and stupid. I have next to no respect for Bear Grylls.

i love Bear Grylls show, for me far more entertaining than Survivorman. yes, he got crew, but its cameraman and guy responsible of ropes etc. notice that Bear does far more dangerous things. i dont think Les ever tried to sqeeze camel shit or eat dead zebra :D scene when he barely avoids getting hit by train is epic :P

Bear Grylls is a teenage idiot in a grown man's body. I would be upset that we, as a society, idolise him and give him screen time, but then I remember shows like Jeremey Kyle.

Survivorman is pretty cool :)

Les isnt a fake which makes his show way cooler to watch.
What bear does is directed and in a lot of cases fake not to mention insane and unnecessarily gross.
He of course doesnt actually survive in the wild or anything.

Les is out there for 7 days straight. He does have a crew that keeps tabs on him and watches him from a far but all that is happening to him is real.
I mean, who the fuck would eat raw meat of a half eaten zebra?
Or gigantic maggots or raw worms...
Your average Joe stranded in the wild will not do any of those.

Les Stroud spent an entire year with his wife in the wild and Made a documentary out of it and i think a book as well so I'm a les fanboi.

By the way there is an awesome BBC show called "Tribe" with bruce parry.
I recommend it.

Les Stroud is a superhero TBH. I like almost everything about the guy, except if he asked me to go on a vacation with him I'd say "hell no" :P

Are you joking? Of course you would eat those! Hungry people would even eat tree barks.
My friends who got lost in jungle also ate lots of strange stuff for several months of being lost, and they were constantly starving. One of them died.
