AaaaAAAaaaA!!!, And Yet It Moves, Auditorium, Aztaka, Brainpipe, Captain Forever, Cogs, Eufloria, Machinarium, Osmos, Saira, and Space Giraffe, for $30, or $20 for each of the two smaller bundles (6 games in each).
The games are naked, DRM-less downloads except for Cipher Prime's flash games that you must log in to their website to play. I've been having fun with Eufloria, Auditorium, Machinarium, and Osmos so far, and am looking forward to picking up the second bundle.

Re: Indie Bundles
Thanks for the tip-off. I just bought the mega-love bundle.
I haven't even seen these games before, I just like to support indie software and I like indie games because they tend to be more genre breaking than the big publishers offerings.

Re: Indie Bundles
I bought the mega bundle last night. AAaaAaaa is brilliant. Osmos rules. Brainpipe, Saira, and Space Giraffe crash when launched.
Re: Indie Bundles
Whoa, three games in the second bundle crashed? Damn. Space Giraffe looked really cool, but it does sound like Aaaaa! is the real reason to buy the second bundle.
Also, since we're RTS buffs here, it's worth noting Eufloria. Eufloria is a single-player RTS... it plays like Kernel Panic in slow-motion, but each factory has different stats for the units it builds. If you're looking for a low-stress ambient RTS, it's good.... but Spring players might get really bored because we're used to a break-neck pace.

Re: Indie Bundles
They work now...guess my pc was having a bad hair day. Brainpipe and Space Giraffe are really....really...woah.
Re: Indie Bundles
I played the demo of eufloria (and a few other games on sale) a while ago and I really enjoyed it. Most of the others look very neat as well.
I'm conflicted though... On one hand I just started a new job and will begin to have some disposable income. On the other hand I should really keep up with my schoolwork which I've managed to keep on top of so far this semester.
I dunno if I'll have time to play 12 different games (on top of the hundreds of others I have and don't play) But then I can always have them for later... gah I don't know what to do!

Re: Indie Bundles
It's worth remembering that these aren't Steam bundles - they don't just mark-up after the sale ends, they go "back in the vault" Disney-style. Nasty high-pressure marketing there. The Love Bundle is from Feb. of this year, and was out-of-comission since then.
On the other hand, no DRM - I gave World of Goo (back when it was pay-what-you-think-it's-worth) and Machinarium to my nieces who loved puzzle games after playing Pingus.

Re: Indie Bundles
Lods of goods, but only Osmos really got me. I always wondered, how much you could reduce spring, and keep the fun alive. What if you only had the minimap and the symbols- would it still be spring, just in 2d?
Re: Indie Bundles
Machinarium reminds me of the old Space Quest series. About half the puzzles are illogical or involve activating hidden things based on absolutely no ques. Without the cheats I wouldn't have got past the first screen.
Space Giraffe is too confusing. Eufloria is too simplistic (it is pretty though). AaaaaaaAaaaAaa isn't really my thing. Saira just crashes. I haven't tried the others.
The value in my opinion is in Osmos, Brainpipe and Cogs. For $30 three out of twelve is still value and hopefully there might be some surprises in the ones I haven't tried yet.

You must be very bad at quest games :)SpliFF wrote:Machinarium reminds me of the old Space Quest series. About half the puzzles are illogical or involve activating hidden things based on absolutely no ques. Without the cheats I wouldn't have got past the first screen.

I passed machinarium almost completely without any hints...its actually not very hard at all.
The first scene?you mean the initial first screen?just a few clicks and your done...the second scene is the cop scene where its obvious you need to disguize and change your appearance to pass..
IMO machinarium is awesome.
I didn't finish it completely cause i got bored but thats just my short attention span.
Most quest games have a bit of pixel hunting and trying to see whats clickable.
Machinarium has fun puzzles and most are something you can figure out logicly.
The atmosphere is art style are also very cool.
Re: Indie Bundles
It's not that the puzzles are hard, it's that it's finicky. On the first scene I figured out the fishing thing for myself BUT it wouldn't let me attach the hook because i hadn't kicked the pole. Why can't I attach the hook, then kick the pole? Because it's a ridiculously linear game with little strategy beyond randomly trying things until something happens. That sort of of thing is why I stopped playing adventure games.
