Some map models.

Post by Mr. Bob »

A while ago, I was planning on making some maps for spring using massive feature models. I ended up almost finishing a few, but I never exported them or anything. Unfortunately, some things came up and I wasn't able to completely finish them. But, I feel bad for not coming through on the matter, so I'll do the next best thing and just give you what I made so far. I'm really not sure if anyone can use them, though.

All the models have one central terrain model that can be rendered to produce a height map. (Same as all the other maps.) In 3ds max, the materials all use various textures from the Spring content pack.

Map model 1 uses "texturemap006" and "texturemap021".

Map model 2 Isn't UVWrapped.

Map model 3 is partially wrapped and uses "texturemap009" "texturemap005" "texturemap007" "texturemap022" "texturemap004" "texturemap013" "texturemap019" and "texturemap021" Most of those are for the terrain so they are all rendered as one. Also, the yellow lines are simply "texturemap009" tinted yellow. Again, rendered into the terrain texture map.

All made in 3ds max 2010. Feel free to use them, though I have no idea if you can.

Also, feel free to distribute them without giving me credit. I really don't mind. I just feel bad for not finishing them.

Wow if we can get the platform model ingame, even untextured, itd be a major coup for us, we'd be the only game to have that kind of map other than supreme commander 2

Here are the textures.

Note, that I made none of them. Sand is from CGtextures, and the other stuff is from a content pack here. Though, I don't remember its name, I'm sure you will.

I tried to give these a shot at making them into maps, but I'm sorry I god discouraged by the untextured models. I really am not good at texturing, so I tried to collaborate with others on this, but that got washed away by time.

Edit: If you need any assistance in converting the model to a heightfield for mapping, feel free to contact me!
