Heroes of might and magic

Post by Gota »

Anyone wants to arrange a team game?
I'm unsure of what HoMaM though.
5 is latest and has an expansion,it seems to have gotten good reviews but it probably needs a good comp to play and I'm not sure how good it's gameplay is.
I know that Heroes 4 is a very good game, takes less space and is much less demanding specs wise.

I found the series to be some of the most addictive games ever! I don't have anything but HMM 2 though... (and even that not at hand). (really good sound as well...*reminisce*).

Is it really a matter of which game you have or don't have ;) wink wink.

Ya, Ya, I've thought the same - but it's nice to have an excuse not to play a game that regularly took me half a day to play (and that was 1vs1 -hmm, maybe it was more than just one round though...). Also my comp sucks, and I don't know if I want to look into anything beyond the third (which I've already played) - though I'm sure it'd be easy enough to get into.

HOMM3 FTW!

I can play that, not the new 3d crap.

I like 2 and 3. 4 is too different and 5 is ok but is missing something, idk what.

5 visually feels too much like WoW.
3 i think is just too old also i think 4 was more balanced.

I don't think 5 is missing anything - it's very nice even on HoMM standards. HoMM 1 would be epic... purple dragons and omgwtf ghosts :) Did it even have multiplayer other than hotseat?

3 is easily the best, though I have 5 installed now and would have to track 3 down.

I would definitely be in

2 is good
3 is the best (with expansion packs and mods its fucking win)
4 is vastly different i like it but it goes a bit to far at times
5 is trying to be 3 with modern graphics its good but i dont think the graphics were needed 3 is fine and has more content with mods and expansion.

So basically 3 all the way.

I own them all with expansions so im up for playing any.

I'm biased towards HoMM 2 as well - it's what I played first, and most. I did play quite a bit of Hot-Seat on 3 though and I'm happy to say that rocks as well.

Due to time constraints, I'm afraid I wouldn't be in for a game :/ - seems 3 or 4 seem to be the two favoured versions atm, for those that want to set one up (flip a coin ? :P).

You know, we can play 4-10 hours at a time and then save the game and continue tomorrow

From the look of things 3 is the one. Maybe check out some mods as Otherside said.

well I personally know 3 and 4 are very good the only problem is how it will be played in multilayer.
I'm not sure about 4 but in 3 everyone takes his turn while all the other players wait.
This is boring and very very long....
In 5 with the expansions you have simultaneous moves until players engage each other so that is a big plus for 5 cause it speeds up the game quit a bit if you believe what players say.

There was a pretty nifty mod that allowed individual units to gain experience apart from your heroes.

And added more units neutrals and events,

Heres what WoG adds

http://wog.celestialheavens.com/en/about/

it has an abundance of ingame options
