I own a copy of borderlands too and didnt play it too long.

Right now I play stalker call of pripyat, I think its better than metro2033.
All that metro has are tiny levels and good graphics thats it.
Stalker has -gfx and an open world a lot of things to do like doing quests, finding artifacts and collecting weapons and upgrading them.
And its probably the first stalker game without bugs.

i loved borderlands, so i guess you'll like the game i hate, play BF BC2, Medal of honnor, call of duty and all the interactive movies designed for nOObs (splintercell, prince of persia, assassins creed ...), i'd even recommend you to get a PS3 or a Xbox360 ...

Yeah, Borderlands is only for people with mad skills especially since it doesn't need much skill, only a high level and good weapon drop.

i thought borderlands was pretty shocking... virtually no enemy types andd all the the different guns function almost identically. the armaments of halo and UT are more interesting by a factor of about 50

As I said before, I prefer Hellgate. Even with all its flaws it still had more variety going on. Weapons had more attributes than just DPS and range.

Also The Scourge Project just got patched and I think all the major annoyances are gone. It's a fun little game for the 20$ it costs. It's meant for coop but can be played SP just fine now that the bot AI got massively improved.

My brother played my borderlands with his friends who are wow addicts, so I guess its very much like a hack-and-slay RPG.
Me as an FPS player I wasnt very impressed by it.

You dont need any FPS skills for it, my brother played so that it hurt my head: not using any cover, reloading without cover and just taking the hits from the enemy.
I guess thats how you play wow.

When you play FPS for years you use all your instincts and motoric skills but it seems you dont need that at all in borderlands.

I still play stalker cop, its fun.
You can compare it to fallout but the world might be a little smaller, but the fighting is better than in fallout3.

In fallout3 you were using the aiming system because normal aiming was just wasting your ammunition.
Even with gun skills high and the best weapons you were missing too often in fallout3.

In stalker you just aim the normal way with iron sights and depending how good your weapon is you will hit precisely.
All that you can upgrade are your weapons though, not your character.

I will try some mods for this game too, some mods make the graphics better some have things like a repair kit so you wont spend thousands of rubels to repair your weapons.
