Re: Small Projects!
Plenty of people here started 1 man projects knowing full well completion within a small time space was unfeasable unless more people joined.
I hold up EvolutionRTS as an example, although there are many, Forboding started it, and people saw what eh was doing, and some of them liked it and felt the need to contribute and volunteer. He didnt start threads asking for team members.

Re: Small Projects!
No. Calculate for yourself, if you + your friends work one month on a game, how many times would the game have to sell until your income/hour is higher than a "normal" job? How would you even sell it? And then there is also the time wasted reading tutorials, figuring out how stuff works etc. That way when the small Projects are done! meanse there will be money involved & money will fund huge Projects!
So make a pacman game or whatever and just be happy that you learnt something about computers. But to make money/get famous with it you are 20 years too late.
Re: Small Projects!
usually it is better to only look what good/bad will come off something in the future and not how much you have already spend on it.
or what do you mean?

I still wish we had Argh's figure about PURE's sales. Not to mock him, just to get some solid facts and numbers.
For 48 $ I can also have three one-year-old AAA games, that I would already known enough about them to know that they're really good games that I would really enjoy.
So best of luck with your endeavour, you'll really need it.
Anyway, thanks for posting the UI screens, posting screenshots and links to your works is the only way to prove you're not only words. On internet forums, proof of actual works is much more effective in gaining respect that old fashionned letter endings & greetings. Of course, there's always the possibility you didn't make those UI mock-ups yourself, but bah, for now I'll take your words (yeah these sad things happen over the net, sorry to even mention it). I'm not sure why you deleted them all, though. Are you afraid we're going to steal them, and reprogram a whole game around them because of so great they are?
For 48 $ I can pick from my supermarket a brand new AAA game, that had enough advertising to make me want to have it, and from a company so large I would be reassured it's at least a decent game and not a scam.xzalion wrote:I will show my game once done! That's not the sort of talking I would expect from a professional designer in the game business.xzalion wrote:for you it's an very special price $ 1000 not neg ....

Yes, that! And it's not about our geographical location, but because we're nerds, no suits.hoijui wrote:you should lay out your plans in a cold/technical way, and show progress, as much as your own policy allows
