. My dad's pre-school, highschool, and college (non - profit organization) just barely scraped by not having to completely shut down when clinton raised the minimum wage. As it was, they had to lay off 40%+ of the staff, just to be able to afford to keep operating. Shit was bad. My Dad was the president of the school, so in addition to laying off all those people, he took a 20% paycut as well as a few of the other administrators who would volunteer to do that.

That would all be no problem if these things were run by the state...
