Make sure that what you say here is really true. "Abandonware" is neither free nor legal. I don't know if that's the case for the given two games though. Just giving torrents as download links doesn't give this a good start though...

abandonware is legal especially when company doesnt exist anymore or they doesnt care about this game so it becomes 'legal'

learn to read and understand, u can download it with browser, not from torrents what means u can do it FAST, thats all, stop being retarded

Abandonware is NOT legal. It's just less morally wrong (depending on your ethics).

The only way it could be legal would be if the company still existed, and cared enough to declare it okay to download. Like EA did for the old C&C. But then it's not abandoware, just freeware.

These files are illegal. Dark colony belongs to UbiSoft. And I couldnt dig up enough info on jazz to determine that its freely released - but the underdogs said its not freeware, and they are usually right.

Read up on copyright law.

Yeah ok I read rapidttorent instead of rapidshare...
Abandonware still isn't legal in any way so unless you show a source for the developers or right owners which give it away as freeware (a not existing company is no reason - elsewhise people would cheer as with neither Cavedog nor GT Interactive existing today Total Annihilation would be free) it's no save bet to call it free...

Dark colony is not freeware, its owned by UbiSoft. If you have any proof of the opposite, please post a link. And no, a download link is not proof.

The burden of proof is on the offender.

But just so you see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Colony
Dark Colony is a 1997 real-time strategy computer game developed by GameTek and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Simulations
SSI was acquired by Mindscape in 1994, spent time as part of Mattel, and finally became part of Ubisoft (in March 2001), which has since retired the brand name.

If a game does not have an official document from the owner saying "this game is free to download" then it's best to presume that whoever owns the IP (even if they are unaware of that fact) is retaining their copyrights.

What a surprising turn of events! Who would, ever in their lives thought that that would be your next move, wombat? You are so mightily clever!
