Re: Heavy Rain?
Played the demo, weird game, basically an endless series of quick time events coupled with a classic "adventure game" exploration/clue finding but i a 3D environment... style-wise it looks like a near future hollywood thriller.
I would not buy it myself, but I was able to decide this by playing the demo.

Watched someone stream that,
waggle the controller to shake hips during strip tease, then QTE to break the guys head with a lamp.
In the next sequence he is tied to a chair, the interrogation minigame is mash button to squeeze balls.
GOTY ALL YEAR

Re: Heavy Rain?
thx, so its again press the button at right time interactive movie like Fahrenheit? Nothing for me, no matter how impress the quality of the movie.
Now topic is solved and i feel empty inside. How about something diffrent?
If you would write a AI for a neuralNetwork, whos part are slightly unreliable when it comes to calculation and processing, idling around usually, would you ass said social-singularity sink that deep to use Lolcats and similar crap to get a return from your clients?
PS: Its Caturday!

Re: Heavy Rain?
Yes, and no. Some ask quite complex tasks from your brain to determin the right time to press the button.JohannesH wrote:Isnt pretty much any game about pressing right button at rifht time?PicassoCT wrote:thx, so its again press the button at right time interactive movie like Fahrenheit? PROTIP: Dont circlestrafe and shoot in spring, it wont work, although your commander might move and built some solars as result.
Re: Heavy Rain?
so its like these "interactive movies" where you can select different scenes and that were the big hype when CD-ROMs first came out?
totally rad man, welcome to 1990.

Re: Heavy Rain?
if u want interactive movie go buy uncharted 2, 1 was one of the best games i ever played
Re: Heavy Rain?
in some cases your quick time events are choices, if you fail the quicktime event the story progresses differently.
Re: Heavy Rain?
Somehow I can't get excited by a return to this:

Re: Heavy Rain?
what is heavy raid exactly? a domestic life simulator?
Re: Heavy Rain?
No, it's like one of those hollywood serial killer murder mystery thrillers where there are multiple characters storylines weaving in and out of the major story arc. The serial killer is kidnapping and murdering children so one of the main characters is apparently a father looking to find his son... the trick is that you are simulating every action of your character, so there is a button to check what you character is thinking, buttons to open and close car doors, buttons to administer asthma medicine to yourself, a choice of buttons to knock or kick down a door, a choice of buttons to figure out what to say in a conversation, and among all the other stuff, yes, apparently a button to play catch with your son or watch TV or do the dishes (the last ones I'm not sure of, I've only heard rumors)... the "domestic" simulation stuff is the part of the hollywood thriller where the insanity of the murders is being juxtaposed against the relative normalcy of the characters boring lives I guess.1v0ry_k1ng wrote:what is heavy raid exactly? a domestic life simulator?

You have to take asthma medicine? Boo.SinbadEV wrote:buttons to administer asthma medicine to yourself,
Yep. That movie is supposed to make you question what is normal, but you don't really know any answers to that question unless you go out and do research on the topic or draw some limited and hopefully, not off the wall, conclusions about it based on what you know from similar phenomenon.SinbadEV wrote:the "domestic" simulation stuff is the part of the hollywood thriller where the insanity of the murders is being juxtaposed against the relative normalcy of the characters boring lives I guess.
