I made this map
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3043V17E
But my friend who is a vista user has problems opening this map and other maps I and my other friend make. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions?
Does Vista have issue with Maps?

Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
Did you pack it as a solid archive? That will cause problems.
Also, try packing it as zip, not 7zip, and see if your friend still has the same problems.

Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
Usually when our friend has this problem, I end up zipping the .sdd into a .rar and then file transfer it to him. It's worked in the past, but as oksnoop said, this last map just wouldn't work at all.
I looked at his infolog, and it said it was having trouble loading the paths. So in a blindly desperate last ditch effort, I sent him the zipped path files my computer made for the map. The infolog stopped referring to those files, but it didn't work anyways. He didn't send me that last infolog, we just picked a working map and played.
What is a solid archive? Is that different from the sort of "out-of-the-box" default for 7zip?

Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
Solid is the default 'out-of-the-box' setting in 7zip.
Solid archive used to not even be loaded by Spring. Now, Spring load them, but it still cause lots of issues, so best is to disable solid.
Just look at the GUI of 7zip, and untick "solid archive".

Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
It's a dropdown now, not a checkbox, and it defaults to 2mb. Just set it to "Non-Solid".
Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
I just tried your suggestion. He said it did not work. Here is the infolog:

Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
Im super unsure about allowing single quotes in a map name...
Re: Does Vista have issue with Maps?
Well the map runs for the 4 other people who got it. And he's had similar problems in the past with maps I've made. that don't have single quotes in the title.
