My thoughts and prayers go out to Kyle and his family, they must be really devastated by this.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
Quick status update:
We haven't heard anything yet. I guess no news is good news, but I assume that the plug hasn't been pulled yet. We had a little band get together last night kinda geared towards Kyle. It was good that we did. Otherwise every time we went down to the band room god only knows what would all go through our minds.
Had a good time tho, Played and sang a lot of old CCR songs. Good times

I think the friend fund thing is a good idea.PicassoCT wrote:But for the worst case, have you thought about forming some sort of friendfund to help the widow, and later his child(education)? It may look very old fashioned & coldblooded first to bring up that Thing, but it is one of the view things you can do for those Living left behind, and ease at least one fear a dying man usually has...
Sometimes churches will help widows of an active church member too.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
O damn, I forgot to mention that. Me and the guys are diverting significant portions of our paychecks to help out. I was actually gonna do it and not say shit, but Mike mentioned that he was gonna do it and asked if the rest of us wanted to help out, at which point pretty much all of our wallets flipped out immediately (Figuritively).
Between the 3 of us we'll make sure she's taken care of. My parents church may lend a hand too.
Umm another status update:
Kyle's condition hasn't improved or gone downhill since his blood pressure rose, so they're gonna hold off for 3 days and see if he starts getting better. We're hoping for the best, but I am expecting the worst. I'm too much of a realist than to be able to trick myself into believing something that I doubt is gonna happen. I am hoping tho.
Thanks for all the support guys. You may not realize it, but it has helped out quite a bit. Thankfully I kinda dealt with the grief stage on sunday night (I was a complete wreck), and I've been doing pretty well this week. It kinda helps that my job takes all the brainpower I have, so I'm usually too busy to really be able to think about anything else, and in this case, it is one heck of a blessing.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
Another update!
Kyle's liver started working a little bit. Not much, but Good Lord I hope it's a good sign that he can pull out of this.
It makes me a lot more hopeful than it probably should, but atm tbh I am totally elated. Please God, let him come back!

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
I dunno really what else to say, so I'll get right to the point.
Kyle Passed Away this morning. I'm not sure on the exact time.
The picture is blurry as all hell, but mike found it on his phone and sent it to me. Far as I'm concerned, it's just fine.

I am sorry to read that. Remeber that in the infinity of existence you are bound to meet him again, and if you are an atheist remember that your own death will one day take you to his same state. If his family has a religion remind then of after-life, people from some religions seen to forget these teachings then someone passes away.
I think its a good idea to examine his son, as far as I know that might be genetic.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
Sorry to read this. My sincere condoleances.
I got an urge to try to help with some advice but I cannot really come up with something that really helps with the grief you face right now and will face for quite some time. There is no escape from it and there are no short-cuts one can take when grieving someone, that's the awful truth.
You are many people who are affected by the loss of Kyle. Take care of each other. You need it. Talk. Listen. Be there.
I can only wish you the best when you endure and handle this situation and the feelings you all are confronted with. My thoughts are with you.

Ps. I did the math... when Kyle was born, I was 15 years, leaving primary school for gymnasium school in Sweden. I have a nephew who was born that year and it feels very much like "this cannot happen", that someone who was a new born child that year (hell, I remember those days almost like yesterday) actually can DIE today.
Yes, it's unfair. Awfully unfair. Not the way it is supposed to be. Those born decades after me should survive me. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
Did he donated organs? I mean after having received a heart, even if it only extended his life a bit, it would be kinda vile to not donate his own organs after death. You probally have good reasons for cremation but, if there is still enough time for suggestions, I think that buring him under the seed of a long-living tree would be a good burial, this way you would sort of fell he is there through the tree that grew up feeding from his remains.

Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
Honestly. Why would you even need to ask that question?
Re: Our Drummer is in the hospital
mannored is crazy forb, his posts are some of the most thoughtless crap to come out of what I guess is some random 12 year old. Don't let it get to you.
I am not much for condolences it doesn't make anything better. So I'll just do what I always do...
Mannored, you have no right to say that sort of thing, show some respect for the dead. Maybe the guy was uncomfortable with the idea, it doesn't make him vile. Sometimes it is better to just let people greave, don't talk about the guy to forb, leave him alone and stop posting crazy shit. The guy is dead, show some respect for the dead, don't post stupid shit like that comment on how you think it was vile that he didn't donate his organs. You are not in anyway helping.

I am interested into the behavior of people, sorry if I made a question whose answer is kinda obvious in a bad moment, Im kinda oblivious to how other people think.Forboding Angel wrote:Honestly. Why would you even need to ask that question?
In my culture not donating your organs after dead if you received organs is vile, unless the family prevents you that is, or if you forgot/thought you would have more time to tell then/sign the document.
