Hey everyone. My brother's 64bit version of Spring works fine except for the fact that after ten seconds of play or so the sound suddenly quits (although the game still plays). He's running a Compaq Athlon64 computer with Ubuntu Hardy 64bit.
The strange thing is that we've tinkered with the system's sound settings, and even with the Springsettings, to no avail while my computer (with a 32bit version of Ubuntu), plays perfectly well. I'm sure we're both running the May 2008 Spring Version (or somewhere in May I think), so is this just a bug in the 64bit version Spring? Is there any way of getting the sound to work? Thanks for the help.

one of the function keys is a toggle turning sound on and off, I've forgotten which one it is, but perhaps that has an effect? f8 it might be

No dice. The button is F6, by the way, and the Sound was already enabled. It turns out that my brother is "lucky" if he has sound for at least ten seconds in the game; for the most part there is no sound at all. Any other suggestions?
So far, he switched from Open Sound System to ALSA and still nothing.

Sound works fine for my on Hardy (as long as I haven't restarted xserver without rebooting, that is).
