Spring 0.76b1
WinXP, AMD X2 6000, NVidia GF 7950GT, 2GB RAM
Shadows are enabled.
If i disable "Reflective Units",
units will not cast shadow on terrain.
Is this a bug?
Or a feature i don't understand?
Thanks for enlightening me,
Frostregen

Well, I can tell you that reflections enable a few different things, like transparency, and that shadows enable advanced shield graphics. In short, the half of spring's options have random other things attached to them.

Re: UnitShadows do not render without "reflective units" enabled
Thanks for you answer.
I don't think it is a real problem anyway,
as most players would enable reflective units way before
enabling shadows. (Performance-hit wise)
I had reflective units disabled since 0.74b2,
because there were glitches when building structures.
(The real texture was not always on top(flickered) of the blueprint solid-body)
This seems to have gone away now.
(Driver or game? I have no idea...)
Looks like a new game now,
with all the fancy stuff enabled :)

I've noticed this lately as well.Frostregen wrote:I had reflective units disabled since 0.74b2,
