Direct Sound Problem

Okay, so my friend doesn't have a sound card on his computer. He wants to play Spring, but when it loads, it gives him a fatal error about Direct Sound on object or something. My question is..

"Is there a work around to disable all sounds within Spring, so this error won't happen?"

Are there any other workarounds? Thanks in advance. :wink:

Or, if you don't mind playing without sound, you could set the registry key MaxSounds to 0 in Software\SJ\Spring (IIRC).

Yes that will work.

Apart from recompiling Spring without sound I don't know any other solutions/workarounds.

Now I need to know where to locate Software\SJ\Spring? And what does IIRC stand for?

Edit: I've found the file 'settingstemplate.xml', is this what I need to edit?
