AFAIK it also happens if a DLL fails to initialize. (ie. DllMain returns an error.)AF wrote:This looks like you've opened spring in notepad, copy pasted in random text over the top and saved again.
Or you've downloaded a new spring.exe and it cut out half way through.
Basically it's windows saying that spring.exe is corrupted or invalid and cannot be executed.

This might be my fault, I accidentally included the glew 1.4.0 dll from the precompiled VS libs, not my own compile.
New dll: http://rattle.from-hell.net/spring/ming ... -1.4.0.zip
New dll: http://rattle.from-hell.net/spring/ming ... -1.4.0.zip
well
Here's a suggestion. Reinstall it correctly, and disable some settings. I've noticed that the SVN versions don't come up with the simple text messages, and crash on startup. Just for you all to know though, I used the new dll's from unknown files, and replaced my truetype with the new one, and it runs better then the current versions do. :D
Use this:
http://buildbot.no-ip.org/~buildbot/spr ... vn4885.exe
Then install this to a new directory, then open it, then open the DLL folder, then copy all those files your SVN Spring Directory.
Look on the UF site for the new DLLs for Mingw.

This is what you do.
1. Download this, then install wherever you want.
http://buildbot.no-ip.org/~buildbot/spr ... vn4885.exe
2. Download this, then run it, install to a different directory.
http://www.unknown-files.net/spring/3801/mingwlibsv9/#
3. Open the Folder where you installed the files in Step 2. Open the DLL folder in it, hit CTRL + A, then hit CTRL + C.
4. Go to where you installed the files in Step 1. Hit CTRL + V, if it tells you if you want to overwrite, allow it to overwrite.
5. Get whatever mods and maps you want.
6. Start the lobby client, then go to options, server, and open the server browser, then select the test server.
7. Click connect, then host whatever mod/map you want.
