When ordered hold position, units still moves

Post by TradeMark »

If i give an order to some unit, that unit should also follow that order? Right?

Well, seems like they dont want to do that.

When i put unit in hold position, any unit who collides it can make it moving again in random directions. Especially ally units.

Thats just damn annoying when im trying to formate my army, and then some tiny wezel moves my big juggernaut because he cant go through that defense line. >>__<<

And in this case i dont mean pushing, i mean those "hold position" units starts moving their legs and move, like i gave any frigging command to them.

yeah the pushing code that I fucking LOATHE!

in the next spring we get a tag that can disable pushing for specific units. I added already for every unit in gundam. Petition your respective mod to add it as well.

what's the reason for it to begin with? is it so units don't end up in the same square? to prevent them getting stuck together or something?

it assists in pathfinding calculation if a unit conciders any space that is not blocked by a building or feature as "passable" it will walk in that direction sending "get-out-my-way" messages to any units it bumps into... it it much more difficult (if not impossible) to find a path around a clump of units so they will say "unable to reach destination" most of the time...

Even builders? And really tiny units? That could get anoying when building...

Edit: or does this tag only apply to other units moving through, not build orders? if not, it should.

nope that tag effects the units all the time. For extra lulz, give your self these units:

Chargelgoog

3 t61

the tanks will bump char and he will run way the fuck away.

then try a zaku.

he actually moves a smaller distance.

It depends on the collision spheres. If your units have spheres smaller than their footprint no pushing happens.
