Autohost - GL_ARB_texture_env_combine

Post by Posts »

"Update Drivers
Needed extension GL_ARB_texture_env_combine not found"

I don't want to render anything on the server.

ATI RAGE XL PCI (think legacy/discontinued)
4 CPUs
Fat net pipe
Running 3 - 32 player Halflife2 servers no problem

That's just it, they're 2 different games. Spring requires that the autohost can play the game, in order to host, where as you can host Half-Life 2, and probably not play it. That is the quick answer, and I myself have proven it. My laptop can host a gmod server[DSL is the limiter], but it can't host an autohost.

AFAIK tobi has plans to make a dedicated server, but its all about having time to do it...

Yeah, and currently Auswaschbar is really moving towards that goal by having properly separated the networking code already.

All that's left is factoring out the code that uses simulation data in the server to (one of) the clients (e.g. for determining whether game has ended) and changing build systems to actually build a spring_dedicated_host.exe
