HI
Im postin this request cause i cant and dont like to map.For those out there that do like to map and enjoy the proccess. Can you make a map that is relativly flat and doesnt have many mexes but each mex gives a lot of metal.I was looking at Supcom maps.Thety dont have that many mexes and there is more space in between mexes so i think it would be cool to have such maps as well on top of our ta style maps.I dont want porcy maps, the mex balance should encourage expension but to a few points on the map not the entire map.. It would be more porcy but we really dont have maps like those and if we do they are either very rare or they are too weird to be played. So basiclly it should be a pretty big map like around 14x14-16x16 and it should have a few mex spots.. say you have a few in your sp and than a few groups of 2-3 mexes that give a high output... instead of mexes being scattered all around on the map.Such maps could be refreshing every once in a while.Im not talking only about team games but also maps for 1v1 .there ar hardly any biger maps for 1v1.
Mount dustmore is virtually unplayable. It has more mexes than the average on a map that size, and yet has 2x the output for each. On maps with large metal economies, energy offers a cap of sorts to your economic growth, meaning you must invest in order to increase your spending (see moon maps like Comet for example- you have to spend large amounts of metal on solars in order to keep your energy econ in pace with your metal econ, as there is no wind). Mount Dustmore has 10-35 wind though, an average of 22.25, over 4x better than solar. Crazy even for a map with a low metal economy.
A map with a few, high-output metal spots would indeed be quite a bit of fun, as you would contest more for the few metal spots. However, a map with a lot of high metal spots just has a crazy, through-the-roof econ.
