ok ive ben reading the site and im sorta confused, is this a mod for the original TA or a stand alone that is based on it?

Its a different engine completely.

There is no mod called 'spring'. Spring is a game engine that some TA mods use. Spring just happens to have been creted by people form th TA community and is fully 3D. You would know this if youd downloaded and tried it.
