Can't install new maps

Post by monkie »

Hi guys,

I have downloaded a load of maps and extracted the files to my \maps directory.

Some of the files are SD7 and others are UFO but I cannot see any of them in my Spring Single player.

Am I being stupid??

Thanks,

Chris

You don't extract or decompress any of the mod or map files if they are in sdz or sd7 format.

UFO maps are for OTA and don't work with Spring.

All of your map files should be in one of three formats...

.sdz
.sd7
Directory titled <mapname>.dds

That last is only used for works in progress with SVN tools, so... eh.

That last one will load slower than the compressed files but makes working on it easier.

In the spring engine, sdd loads faster. In the lobby, they make unitsync take forever to scan/hash, and time you out ;)
