Yet Another Spring Crash Thread (Plus graphics kludge!)

Post by gendou57 »

Running an ASUS Mobo A8V with NVidia GeForce 6600and 1 gig of ram.

Fresh install of Spring, running Balanced Annihilation. Tried AAI, KAI, the patched KAI found on this forum, and GlobalTestAI, all crash right around the 3:30 mark. No error, with a graphics kludge that looks like the map has fallen away, along with all the units leaving just the blue empty space. Last time though, the units and ground came back, but with weird glowy bits on black ground, which then restarted my computer. Here's the Infolog.

Map: Mars.smf
Mod: "Balanced Annihilation V4.7" from BA47.sd7
Number of damage types: 42
Spring 0.74b3
Player gendou57 joined as 0
gendou57 added point: Start 0
AI/Bot-libs/TestGlobalAI.dll has C++ interface

Thats the whole log. No error message, straight to reboot.

Anyone got an idea?

I'm hoping not, but I'll have to test out some other games to see if any of them do the same thing. Postal 2, one of the few games on my computer, runs fine for as long as I like.

I'll try out a few other games, demos probably, to see if anything else gives me a problem.

Vegastrike (Open source Space Trader Sim) also works fine on my system, for as long as I feel like playing. So far, Spring is the first game to give my system a hiccup since I reformatted my HD a few months back.

if it worked before the format, then it is most probably a different version of some driver not accepting what spring is doing and this resulting in a crash.

can you exclude a temperature problem?

download Prime95 and let it run for some hours, if it spits out errors, something is wrong!
