Rendering large maps in L3DT

Post by Goolash_ »

I cant render a 20x20 map in l3dt - it says i don't have enough memory (i have 2GB of ram and a 4GB pagefile). is there any way i can render it in parts and then compile them together using photoshop? or any other work around that will let me render large maps using l3dt? i know PicassoCT uses something like that but he does it on 3dsmax IIRC, not l3dt.

Does that mean that will render every 512x512 tile of height map at a time and save it as a bmp?

Like he said, just try it its a piece of cake.
You can specify huge tile sizes if it helps, if I am going to mozaic the map I use 2x2 tiling, so for a 16384 x 16384 texture the mozaic is 2 x 2 4096 x 4096 for each of the four tiles.
