maps that people play

Post by duncs »

Hi

I have been away for about 1.5 months. I only started playing again last night.

so. I like playing fun maps, but it's hard (as a host) to get people to join anything other than altored_divide and speedmetal. what nice new maps are there? suggestions please.

the only new one I've seen is tangerine. it looks pretty cool.

it's all small supreme and tangerine lately, which is fine if you like that all resources in your base thing, we need a re release of riverdale and maybe another painted desert to get some old fashioned battles back in.

Arctic planes, Greenhaven Remake, Painted Desert, Lowland Crossing, if you want to step outside the overplayed maps.

Iunno..... I like to test mods on 4B_facility (which is one of my favourites - yes, it is a metal map, but the topography (is that the word?) of the terrain is just so..... fantastic), but apart from that, I just basically play whichever maps are currently being played. (I can't host, so I have to.) Pity, really, since I got about 3.5gigs of maps tucked away, and I only use a few of them.

There are alot of new and old maps that deserve a second ,,, look ..

All of people like Speedmetal .. why ... must likely you can build
fast and nuke or build level 3 mechs in 15 minutes ...

Most other maps ... would take alot more time ... due to average
metal output and average energy ...

I figure in the coming weeks ... if a good AI comes out ... maybe
the other maps might get a second try ... only my opinion ...

Frankly, they're better than what I expected. they aren't encouraging, but they haven't completely killed all feeling of diversity in maps.

Those stats aren't a very good representation since springie does not have a large number of maps. Theres a page somewhere that shows all the maps it has: it is missing a lot of good ones.

It's talking about all the Springie servers, if I recall, and they have on average over two hundred maps. But no, they don't have all the good ones.

Ah, my mistake. I thought the stats were for the one springie server only and the only maps it had were listed here: http://www.unknown-files.net/stats/
