Incredibly bad Frame Rate with 7950GT + AMD64 X2 4600+

Post by fishgills »

I'm getting terrrrrrrible frame rates in TA spring. I can't give exact numbers as I don't know how to turn on the frame counter in the game.

If I turn everything off, it gets butter smooth but if I turn on say shadows? Frame rate goes to hell. Same with dynamic water.

I don't want to be a dick but TA Spring shouldn't be killing my system.

Is there somethign I'm missing? I played TA Spring a lonnng time ago and I had no frame rate issues.

Full stats:

AMD64 X2 4600+
7950GT 512meg of memory
2 gig of ram
Windows XP Pro 64bit

G into nvidia settings and turn off multicore thread optimizations or something similair to that, it gives a real performance boost on AMD dual cores apparently and can bork framerates on them sometimes if left turned on.

Thanks Kujeger. I'm getting 25 fps at the start with just a commander.

I have the 93.71 nvidia drivers running. Latest and greatest.

I don't know where turn on/off the multi-thread optimization. I don't see it anywhere in the NVIDIA control panel.

Thanks for the help gusy.
