there are 2 wait commands.

in Queue wait

Just like adding a building after another building in a buildqueue, you can add a Wait command in between order.

Once the queue reaches the in queue wait command, the unit(s) will stop, and wait till the user presses the in queue wait key to continue with the rest of the queue.

Instant wait

It will pause any activities inmediatly.

It works for Labs, so be carefull of using it in labs or your production will cease till you press instant wait again.

This command does not modify any current queue the unit may have, but just pauses it.

from default uikeys.txt

Code: Select all

bind w wait
bind Shift+w wait queued

There's lots more... see the changelog, a longer description can be found in this forum if you search for e.g. gatherwait.

Excellent explaination Mongus. I was wondering about this also. I can see a select all factories then set them to instant wait being good if you are estalling and need energy quick for dgun.

Nice job Mongus.

Waits can also be used to keep a unit's queue while
it is being transported. Give the unit an immediate
wait, queue the commands, then transport the unit. It
will be unloaded with its queue intact (and still in wait
mode).

P.S. Want to make something similar for:
- timewait
- deathwait
- squadwait
- gatherwait / gathermode?

;-)

Thank you for the explanation, but i have one last question:

how do i use squad wait? Apparently, you can specify what a squad is, and order a factory to build that with a squad wait. When there is what constitutes a squad at a point, it goes on with the que, such as heading to a transport point, or to the frontlines. How would i use this?

thanks!

This parade fo features that arent available from the onset and require the user to hand modify text config files and registry settings would make my comp games tech lecturer die from shock.

It was years since someone bring ur spelling in a topic ^^

Are you studing computer games? .. in that case whats the translation for lecturer? ..

Think its the guy who gives the class...

And about the config files.. well .. the uikeys is only lacking a gui frontend.
The config file with the text must be created anyhow, with or without the feaures...

Just we are lacking that frontend yet.

e:and better examples, more readable information on it.

oh, and btw i think both the animations sucks.. but at least is something!

Here's a fairly complete list of the available commands.
Once my system is working a little better, I'll revisit it.

P.S. Please let me know if you find any missing/incorrect entries.
