interface freezes?

several times since the new release, the interface has completely frozen at random points, i can still interact with it but none of the commands actualy happen,

for instance, i can still open the chat box in game and type stuff but it doesent appear, i can also still isue commands but they dont get effected.

i can still scroll round the screen and see all of the other players units and such moving arround.

this happens at least once a day for me and i dont know what could be causing it, has anyone else experianced this?

my friend got this one in a 3 way battle and he had to drop out...

not a clue what causes it though...

Quite often this is cause by sending large build orders, and either overloading the network, or upsetting someones firewall. Just be carefull when building large blocks of things with alot of builders.

This happens to me when I try to endtask spring only the game GUI has already gone and its windows that freezes up, and I have to start a shutdown process to end the spring.exe program and unfreeze windows by which time its too far along to abort shutdown =(.

Sometimes this happens with me, but its always in a big lag wave or before the game crashing.

this is not a lag related isue, its either my computers configuration has changed or something in spring has changed thats caused this :D :P

Yeah but this possible change of spring's configuration probaly affects only some configurations of computers since it doesnt happen with everone.

ok

i can recreate this error sometimes

basically,

if i make a buildque of any size it frezes

to FORCE this error i can go to real mars and make a buildque accross the whole map, but this error occurs if i have a build que of anywhere between 1 and 230983982398 items.

what is the logic behind the build que that makes it stop sending information untill the server accepts the buildque?

as i see it, the server has not sent back info that it has recieved the buildque so my computer does not have its data effected?

and if it cant be fixed please remove sending the buildque to the server?

This is a bug in Mantis. For some reason build queues, especially long ones, can cause it to go mad sending weird UDP packets that put you out of sync, as well as making the game lag horribly. Solution: never make long build queues. Long build queues also have the tendency for your builders to go "IM STACK" on completely flat terrain.
