How did you find out about spring?

Interesting how such a large community formed...

I found out about it because TA3d was featured on digg, then I got interested and went to wikipedia to read about it, wikipedia referenced spring, and so I got here.

Anyways post your story here

I was playing OTA when a friend told me about it. I was making a mod at the time and figured it would be easier to do in Spring. Suffice to say I never completed that mod.

Friends, none of which lasted this community for three months. I've been here ever since, and I plan to stay.

What happened to these...freinds? Did they ever exsist? Or are you just a rambling psyocopath.

Me: I was searching for OTA mods and found this link to something called TA: Spring and I said "That sounds like its never going ANYWHERE!"

Zoombie, don't tempt me to reveal your full identity. Most of them are a year ahead of me, and thus probably too old for you to know of.

One of them was a Final Frontier fanatic. Two played mainly XTA. One was a AA man. The other three loved the engine.

Two are playing Warhammer 40k, which I have to say pales in comparison as a rts and as an adaptation of the actual wargame. Four have computer/network issues that they can't resolve. The last one went back to Starcraft, because of "flaming". That one always makes me crack up.

hehe, Neddiedrow has Zoombie's number (so to speak) :-).
I first read about Spring when it was way back in an alpha/pre-alpha stage, at which point I still playing Total Annihilation. A lot of time passed by before a friend of mine (who also played OTA, but was not as avid as myself) brought up Spring again. I checked out the progress that was made, got hooked, and have been playing it ever since.

I am always interesting in RTS before 2k and everything...

So I was searching around for a freeware game that was badass, had hype, sounded cool, and lived up to the hype...

Suffice to say it didn't take me long to find original TA...

I was talking to Chrispin about it and he said " I have TA"

And I was like "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER!"

We played ta for about a month, then he found out about this and told me...

That's how I got to know, 2 months later living it up and making a mod :P

Oh bloody bloody bloody hell. I keep forgetting that Neddi happens to know my true identity.

One problem is I have next to no knack for face's and names. In fact I remember fake names (Like AF, Smoth, Cyder ext) far better then REAL names like (John, Dick, Harry, Zamplihamenuf ext).

PS: Add some more bloody's to my hell.

Magazine? Press coverage? Really?

I haven't heard of any, please tell which magazine/press that it was.

Also, kind of off topic but can you edit polls? I see no edit option next to the poll... Oh well...

PCG had some Spring coverage in their Sup Com cover story. It was a rather large side bar (Well...large for a side bar. It even had two screen shots!).

I dont remember. Honestly, I dont. The first thing about spring I remember is Min3mat, Shintahr, the old lobby and eventually EvOTA.
Ah the time it took to get a game started.. Ahh.

Trying to remember >_<

Note: I was on spring before i regged myself on the forums.

This would actually be an interesting poll for general discussion.
